These specialized drawknives are used for preliminary hollowing on the inner faces of bucket and barrel staves. Most older cooper's knives were made with a shallow sweep that is appropriate for large stave containers, such as wine or whiskey barrels. The curve and overall size of our version is intended for coopered containers approximately 200-400mm in diameter.
Made of high quality steel SS2258, hardened to 60-65 HRC.
Total length is 300mm.
Cutting edge length is about 110mm
Handles made of ash or elm.
